Woodhouse Day Spa franchisee Calina Burns opened a Franklin location of the business in 2008 and noticed that people were driving there from Chattanooga.
That’s just one of the reasons she thought the Chattanooga market would be a good place for another location of the day spa, which is now open in Warehouse Row.
“I love what’s happening in the downtown area and in Warehouse Row,” Burns, whose daughter goes to UTC, said. “The new tenant mix [in Warehouse Row] seems to be wonderful for us.”
Pilates Chattanooga, Yoga Landing and Level 10 Salon complement the spa. Warehouse Row also recently added Anthropologie and J.Crew.
And Lululemon Athletica, which is known for its yoga-inspired athletic apparel, is also opening soon there.
The new spa has a variety of services, from facials and massages to body wraps and sleep treatments. Click here for a full list of services.
The spa has a seaweed product line they get from Ireland, and Burns said their treatments and products are results-oriented.
“We focus on wellness, not just pampering,” Burns said.
The business is in a soft opening mode, but a grand opening is coming soon.
The spa has about 13 employees now, but as it ramps up, leaders may hire as many as a dozen more, she also said.
There are many variables that impact the investment, but starting this franchise can cost from $500,000 to more than $1 million.
Their attention to detail and customer service are what set the award-winning spa apart, leaders said.
They have a philosophy called the “99 elements of customer service,” Burns said.
For example, when new customers arrive, they have a robe and towel waiting for them in a locker. If they are a return customer, the employees have kept track of what kind of tea the customer likes, and that’s waiting for them along with their robe and towel.
“It is affordable luxury,” Burns said. “We are selling experiences, and we really want people to have that high-end luxury experience at an affordable price.”
