Two local nonprofits are joining together to make home-ownership a reality for people in our community.

Habitat for Humanity and the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors held a golf tournament fundraiser today.

More than a dozen teams took part at Black Creek Club to raise money.. which will be used to build a home for someone in the coming year.

Chattanooga Association of Realtors President, Nathan Walldorf, says serving the community is what we do, not just focusing on realtor concerns, but the community as well.. so we wanted to do that by partnering with habitat.”

The goal was to raise $50,000 and so far they’ve raised 47,000.

The event concludes with a silent auction and wine tasting event tonight, which they expect will put them past their fundraising goal.
