About the Restaurant:
We are in the restaurant business because we love food. We love experiencing food. We love preparing food. We love serving food. And we live to perfect it.
Newk’s was founded in 2004 by Don Newcomb, Debra Bryson and Chris Newcomb. The team had previously created and launched the McAlister’s Deli concept. Led by their exacting and trend-setting vision, it quickly became one of the fastest growing fast casual restaurants of the time. After establishing strong upward growth for McAlister’s Deli, the founding team sold the chain and soon began to focus on their new venture – Newk’s Eatery.
As Chris Newcomb tested and perfected menu items, it became apparent this venture would more closely reflect the team’s personal passion in the kitchen. As a matter of fact, many of the staple menu items were born from treasured Newcomb family recipes. Thus “Newk’s” was born – an abbreviated homage to the “Newcomb” cookbook.
With that name comes a commitment to continually create extraordinary meals and experiences for our guests. We live for the tantalizing smells, sights, tastes and textures of meals that are made to perfection. We are obsessed with discovering new recipes and re-imagining old favorites – especially our Newcomb Family Recipes. We insist on sourcing the finest ingredients. Nothing is pre-chopped, pre-sliced or pre-packaged. We are uncompromising about quality from kitchen to table and our dedication to personal service. That’s a passion shared by everyone you will meet at Newk’s.
Newk’s offers online ordering as well as our Roundtable Club that rewards members with a free dessert for signing up and free meals on their birthday! Go to www.Newks.com to sign up, download menus or order online.
Newk’s has 4 locations in our area, 3 in Mobile and 1 on the Eastern Shore. In Mobile, Newk’s McGowin Park is located at Government and I-65 near the Fox 10 studios. Newk’s Azalea Road is located at the corner of Airport and Azalea. Newk’s Westgate Pavilion is in West Mobile near Airport and Schillinger in front of the new Academy Sports. We are open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Our website is www.Newks.com.
Newk’s will be holding a fundraiser on August 18, 2016, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. for Bright Beginnings Academy for children with Dyslexia. 10% of all sales during that time will go to help Bright Beginnings Academy. Bright Beginnings is the only full day school program on the Alabama gulf coast that specializes in Dyslexia education for first through eighth grade. Bright Beginnings offers a rich and challenging curriculum for dyslexic children. Our class sizes are very small. We assess the student’s weaknesses as well as strengths to determine a starting point in all of the instructional areas. Each child is unique in their abilities and challenged accordingly. The goal for the students is to be successful and competent learners. At Bright Beginnings, the accent is on the positive. Students find the pleasure of working with other bright and talented dyslexic kids like themselves. We encourage students to discover their talents, and develop their own learning style.
