Waterhouse Public Relations has expanded its team with a new account executive focused on client needs, strategy and media relations. In her seventh year as a communications professional, Marissa Bell brings a range of experience in digital media, broadcasting, public relations and government affairs.

“Marissa is a strong addition to our team, bringing with her a deep knowledge of public relations,” said Amanda Plecas, company vice president.

“Her comprehensive background in communications will serve as a valuable asset as we continue growing and expanding our client-base. We are delighted to have her on board.”

Prior to joining Waterhouse Public Relations, Ms. Bell spent nearly three years serving the citizens of Chattanooga in a communications role in city government. In this position, she led media relations for all departments, developed and managed digital media strategies and handled crisis communication creation and implementation. Additionally, she brings to her new role at Waterhouse Public Relations a unique understanding of media, storytelling and today’s news cycle through three years as a TV news producer, it was stated. Before moving to Chattanooga, she worked for at its digital headquarters and former parent company, Scripps Networks, in Knoxville.

As account executive, Ms. Bell serves as a main contact for client communications on the account team, which includes leading the agency’s media relations efforts. She develops tailored strategies for each client to meet their communication objectives and utilizes both traditional methods combined with new media tools to create personal solutions for Waterhouse Public Relations clients.

Ms. Bell graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications from the University of Tennessee, where she competed on the Division I women’s rowing team, including an appearance at a NCAA Championship. In Chattanooga, she serves as treasurer of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Lookout Chapter and is currently pursuing her accreditation in public relations (APR) through PRSA.
