Marissa Bell is currently in her seventh year as a communications professional with expertise in communications strategy, public affairs, digital media, broadcasting, public relations and crisis communications. At Waterhouse PR, Marissa serves as main contact for client communications on the account team, which includes leading the agency’s media relations efforts as well as maintaining and generating journalist and influencer relationships. Marissa uses her driven personality to develop a tailored strategy for each client to meet their communication objectives. She enjoys mixing traditional methods with new media tools to create exciting solutions for Waterhouse PR clients.
Previously as Interim Communications Director for the City of Chattanooga, Marissa helped communicate the Mayor’s vision and implemented communications strategy, social media, and external relations for a variety of initiatives. Before city government, Marissa crafted broadcast news stories, created market-winning newscasts and managed TV crews as the Senior News Producer at the ABC affiliate in Chattanooga. Marissa made her way to Chattanooga via Knoxville, where she worked for Scripps Networks in digital media for foodnetwork.com.
Marissa cherishes her alma mater, the University of Tennessee, where she attained a Bachelor of Science is Communications. She is currently pursuing Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and enjoys connecting with other communications professionals through her participation on the board of the Lookout Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
When Marissa is not studying, she’s engaging with other young professionals at Young Professionals of Chattanooga (YPC) programming or through Protégé – YPC’s prestigious mentor leadership program. She loves playing in Chattanooga’s great outdoors - rowing down the Tennessee River, biking the mountains, or running along the Riverwalk.
