Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. announce Mark Cunningham has been elected to serve as president and managing shareholder of the firm. Mr. Cunningham has served in numerous leadership roles at Chambliss, including executive committee member and chair of the health care section.

Recognized for his results and client service, he has received regional and national accolades for his work in health care law.

Mr. Cunningham will work closely with Tony Young, the firm’s executive director, to oversee the firm’s professional services and overall operations to ensure that efficient and effective client service remains the top objective of the firm, said officials. He will continue to actively represent clients in his health care practice, which serves numerous health care professionals and companies at local, regional, and national levels.

“I am privileged to lead Chambliss in this capacity,” said Mr. Cunningham. “During my 23 years with the firm, we have grown and, under Mike St. Charles’ leadership, prospered by putting our clients and people first. Our clients and employees are instrumental to our success, and I will do my best to support them in reaching their goals.”

Mr. Cunningham will succeed Mr. St. Charles who served as the firm’s managing shareholder for many years.

Mr. Cunningham is a native Chattanoogan who has served Chambliss’ clients for over 20 years and has worked with a wide variety of health care industry leaders across the country. He serves as outside general counsel for leading revenue cycle providers throughout the U.S. and regularly advises innovative health care providers throughout the Southeast. He has a wide variety of health care, general corporate, acquisition, and commercial transactions experience.

He’s been recognized by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Mid-South Super Lawyers, and Who’s Who in American Law. He previously served as chair of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Health Law Section and is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga (2003). Mr. Cunningham graduated Order of the Coif at Tulane University School of Law and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was inducted into the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa.
