Wholesale Supply Group, Inc. will host a blood drive with nonprofit regional blood center Blood Assurance in honor of Sierra Underwood. The blood drive will take place on Aug. 4 from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Wholesale Supply Group, Inc. on 885 Keith St. NW.

“This blood drive is in honor of 14-year-old, Sierra Underwood, who was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer,” said Joshua Rogers, director of marketing and public relations of Wholesale Supply Group, Inc.

“It’s also for all of the children who are fighting cancer and need blood donations. Sierra is a fighter, and she is not fighting or traveling this road alone – and she invites the Cleveland community to come out and support this great cause.”

When Underwood found out how severe the blood shortage is for people fighting cancer, she wanted to host a blood drive to help. Underwood and her family have themed the blood drive, “Fight Like A Girl,” in support of Underwood and her desire to help others.

“It’s so inspiring to witness Sierra’s desire to help other little boys and girls in our community,” said Patti Wallace, donor recruiter for Blood Assurance. “Join us on August 4, and help Sierra fight like a girl!”

All donors will receive the “Heart of a Hero” T-shirt, donors 18 years or older will be entered into a drawing to win a grill and donors 18 years or older will be entered into a drawing to win the “Pick Your Paradise” vacation getaway contest that ends on Aug. 31.
