Amanda Plecas, APR
Vice President and Chief Creative Officer
Amanda Plecas leads Waterhouse PR’s creative services and manages the team, serving clients as strategic public relations counsel. Her success in strategic communications was recognized by PR News in 2016, and Amanda was a top-five global finalist for Corporate PR Professional of the Year. She holds an Accreditation in Public Relations: internationally recognized for integration of timeless communications principles with contemporary strategies and tactics.
With more than a decade of public relations experience, Amanda has developed award-winning communications programs for clients in the following areas: community relations, multimedia, reputation and brand management, video and media relations. Her work has tripled website traffic, sold out events, exponentially raised brand awareness and earned high-visibility media placements. With both corporate experience and agency experience, she is uniquely positioned to serve B2B and B2C clients.
A certified Public Information Officer (PIO), Amanda has experience and expertise in communicating effectively in a crisis situation. She is also certified in Organizational Compliance/Ethics and Crisis Communications in Travel/Tourism.
Outside of the agency, Amanda is a part-time faculty member at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where she teaches public relations writing and crisis communication courses. She has served local nonprofits on a variety of boards and committees, and is a regular guest lecturer at local universities.
Prior to joining Waterhouse, Amanda held a leadership role at a global chemical company’s manufacturing facility where she developed startup strategic communications, government relations, crisis communications, media relations, internal communications and community relations programs. She earned a master’s degree in rhetoric and composition and an undergraduate degree in writing from the University of Tennessee. Amanda is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga 2009.
