Gerald McCormick, a principal in the commercial real estate firm of Stone Fort Properties and the majority leader in the Tennessee State House, is now a director with investment banking firm of Decosimo Corporate Finance.

In addition to overseeing Chattanooga-based Stone Fort, McCormick will assist Decosimo in sourcing and executing sell-side advisory engagements and debt and equity raises, according to a release.

McCormick (pictured) will work from both the Decosimo Chattanooga and Nashville offices.

McCormick has more than 20 years of professional real estate experience stemming from his time as an industrial property appraiser at the Hamilton County Assessor of Property’s office. McCormickspent 12 years as a commercial real estate broker before forming Stone Fort Properties in 2009.

“The breadth of Mr. McCormick’s experience and knowledge about all facets of the real estate and business markets will be valuable to DCF and its clients as we continue to provide much-needed investment banking services to the middle market,” Tom Decosimo, DCF managing principal, said in the release.
